Lot Description: Rattlesnake Hill is a vineyard designation on the Spring Mountain property located at 2,000 feet elevation. It has a 35-degree slope, offering greater sun exposure and a longer growing season. The result of these conditions and mountain farming is a rich, intensive Cabernet synonymous with Spring Mountain. The total production of Rattlesnake Cabernet is less than 500 cases per year. This lot is a special bottling of Rattlesnake Hill Cabernet blended with a small percentage of estate grown Cabernet Franc, grown directly below Rattlesnake Hill.

Lot Description: We have named this unique wine 4 Vineyards.It consists of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon sources include Beckstoffer's To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, the Coliseum Block Vineyard in Soda Canyon, and the Trailhouse Vineyard in Calistoga. The Merlot comes exclusively from the Truchard Vineyard in Carneros. The To Kalon grapes comprise a small majority of the Cabernet percentage, with roughly equal parts from Coliseum Block and Trailhouse. Our goal is to craft a unique blend representing the sum total of each spectacular vineyard from which we source grapes for Carter Cellars wines.

Lot Description: The Soda Canyon Ranch is located just north of the city of Napa and is the source for Twomey Cellars' highly acclaimed Merlot. The rolling hills of rocky volcanic soils and the cool climate are ideally suited to producing intense, concentrated wines filled with black cherry and blackberry flavors. The Merlot clones chosen for this location are all from the ENTAV program in France and only recently became available in the United States. The fruit for this single barrel of wine came from one of the steepest parts of the ranch on its southernmost extremity. This block is planted with clone 314, which originated in Bordeaux. It is characterized by a high expression of fruitiness and a distinct violet and rose component.
