Lot Description: Baldacci Family Vineyards' second Premiere offering is a Cabernet Sauvignon from our Stags Leap District estate vineyard. The grapes were hand sorted from vines in the southern block of our vineyard. Winemaker Rolando Herrera handcrafted this wine and aged it in carefully selected French oak barrels stored in the belly of our volcanic knoll. This wine, with a silky velvet texture, has aromas and flavors of black cherry, raspberry, figs and chocolate with hints of crushed pomegranate seeds.

Lot Description: The 100-acre Martin Stelling Vineyard in western Oakville is the crown jewel of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon, and has been the primary source of our Cabernet since the first vintage in 1982. Normally, our estate Cabernet is comprised of a blend from our Oakville vineyards, but this bottling comes solely from the Martin Stelling Vineyard, and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine showcases the 2003 vintage, including black fruits, full ripeness and sweet tannins.

Lot Description: Eighty percent of this blend comes from our two-acre block of Petit Verdot. Defined by Dry Creek's ancient creek bed where gravelly soil intensifies the flavors, low-yielding vines bear about one ton per acre from Jackson clone 2 on low vigor 5C. Twenty percent hillside vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was blended for structure and nuance, and the wine was aged in new French oak barrels. In 2003, Petit Verdot commanded the highest price-per-ton in Napa County.
